Probably not, more likely to be a half shaft or diff, if you leave it out of diff lock, select a gear and try to drive away, get someone to look under your motor(from a safe place), if the front drive shaft is spinning, then its something up front thats the problem,  if the rear drive shaft is spinning, its something at the back.  If neither prop is spinning then it could be gearbox, tranny box or even clutch!

okey dokey front prop is spinning but back is not...

I am pretty sure it wouldn't be clutch or gear box because i can move hwen diff lock is engaged????

So what other checks can i do to narrow it down?

I was having issues with cornering actually going round roundabouts was abit.. it seemed abit inbalenced on power to each wheel..

so does this imply a front diff?

Put the diff lock in, jack a front wheel up, and try to turn it. If it won't move then the broken shaft is on the other side.

Sounds more like a CV joint will be the culprit - usual tell tale is clicking coming from the wheel on full lock - the clicking one is the duff one, probably won't get that now it's failed though.

Are there any other tests for a failed CV?
there was a clicking noise about a month ago.

Ok jacked up front wheel it with it in 1st and diff lock.  and it span freely for about half a turn... aswell as that .. not sure if it is to help the diagnostic but i could turn the front prop by hand by about half a turn aswell...

If it is a CV joint then more than likely if has collapsed. I would pull the swivel pin housing apart and have a look, if it isnt the swivel pin housing will need to come off anyway to get the halfshafts and diff out, whicever is broken.

Thats more likely to be backlash in the teeth, because they will be worn, if the CV or halfshaft had gone it would spin forever!!

Did you try and spin the other wheel?
