close shave!
« on: October 31, 2008, 11:40:14 »
Driving back from Dorset yesterday, on the M3 and a piece of lorry (fibregalss rounded bit, that sits on the top of the front body ) flew off a lorry to my left, caught the wind and literally missed the car by inches, if i had been a foot further back than it would have been in the windscreen. Luckily it missed all the cars and landed on the motorway, where a land rover run it over! Me and the missus went silent for a while!!  [-o<

Slight brown trouser moment then!

Glad it didnt hit anyone, and also glad to see it was a Land Rover that finished it off!

When I first passed my test, my mum insured me on her 2 year old Volvo, something I wasn't expecting at all. The privilege came with all sorts of dire warnings about the consequences of damaging it...

A couple of weeks later imagine the panic as I'm following a lorry uphill and his spare wheel drops off, to come rolling down the hill toward me, bouncing from left to right...

I managed a last minute swerve and it missed by a few feet...off home for clean trousers!

I know how u feel, Not long after I had past my test I was involved in a accident with a motorcycle hitting a oncoming car head on. I can still remember seeing the bike in the air seconds b4 it was embedded into the side of my old mk 2 feista. still sends a chill down my back.

Many years age me and my mate Colin were working in south wales and on our way home we were doing about 70 on the motorway when a guys homemade roof box disintergrated....

the top of the box was a four foot square of 3mm ali  it did about 5 somersaults then just before hitting our car edge on the pressure wave at the front of our car pushed the leading edge down under the car and we drove over it with a slap.... [-o<

glad your OK near misses don't half wake you up don't they
