rear anti roll bar

guys for off road purposes should i remove  rear anti roll bar?..

it will help with axle articulation. So yes it will help keep the wheel on the floor in the twisty stuff .

I would only recommend removing the rear ARB if you've uprate the rear suspension as it will cause the vehicle to feel a lot more unstable when cornering on the road.
If you still have the standard springs & shocks on there then I would leave it where it is.
Also, if you remove it then some MOT stations will fail it for not having the ARB on there, plus you would need to inform your insurance that it's been removed or they could invalidate your insurance if your involved in an accident.  ;)

If you're only using the Disco Off Road then ignore the above.  :D

Mine felt fine when i removed mine and i still have got standard springs and dampers. I will dig  out a photo of the articulation i got by removing it and having some -2" damper droppers and cranked arms.

Conversly I have 2 rear ARB fitted and I can still get the wheels all the way to the end of the dampers.  the rear ARB makes little if any difference to the RTI of RRC/Disco.

Has it ever given you any problems off road? If not, I'd leave it on. No need to modify unless it addresses a genuine problem.

Conversly I have 2 rear ARB fitted and I can still get the wheels all the way to the end of the dampers.  the rear ARB makes little if any difference to the RTI of RRC/Disco.

Ive cut the arbs off all the discos ive offroaded, never had any issues, cut many off customers motors, if you expect a disco to handle like a MK2 escort them my guess would be sell it and buy one

Mine has done everything from gentle laning (not sure Strata counts as gentle mind... :lol:) to slogging through mud on private sites. The main problem I hit is when the ruts get too deep and the axles run aground or I get cross-axled due to having only 5mm of tread left on one tyre. I have never had a problem with flexing despite having both ARBs fitted.

It may change with a lift kit, but RRB's experiences would suggest not.

id be interested to see with the rear anti roll bar off the knock on effect when in a slide with the winter conditions ever closer or  with winter driving dangers say  :-k

i have throught about removing mine but was put off by driving  classic 82 range rover 6 yrs back now  :|

sorry if i affended you, that wasnt my intention, the term "gas it off" is a well used phrase in the trade, i should remember not everybody on here has a mechanical background in the trade, once again sorry for the attidude,   :oops:

I do however gas, cut, remove  the remaining ARB mounting brackets from the chassis and axles, just another thing not to get bent or cause problems when offroading,

I was a fitter/turner for 11 years and if we were asked to "gas" something then it meant to get the oxy/acetylene cutting torch on it, that was the only reason for asking.  ;)

With a +3" lift & 33" tyres, I left the brackets on there as the chassis brackets were well out of the way and I wasn't bothered about the axle ones, plus I didn't have gear to remove them.

Oh dear, sorry to about that, hope you weren't in public ;)

Well thing is I don't encounter many fork lift trucks when I'm green laning, but I do tow a lot, I have 2 big dogs and a gas tank in the boot.

Like with Blue, this one will also flex to the limit of the dampers, plus 2" as before

And look how thick the rear ARB is on it
