300tdi Bad water leak..

Does the 300tdi have a core plug on the back of the head or block, as soon as I can put water  in, it runs out and down the bellhousing, I just can't see without dismantaling where it's coming from..  Any ideas  :huh:

they rub on the lifting eye and eventully rupture

My heater pipe's went there, not an uncommon problem.

I've checked the heater hoses... unfortunatley they were OK  :doh:

There is a core plug on the back of the head around there...

There is a core plug on the back of the head around there...

Guess I'd better get the head off and have a look then..  :'(   Or maybe try and get a mirror in there first....

You shouldn't need to lift the head to get at the core plugs, 3 arms maybe ..............

Thanks, very helpful picture... :clap: Knowing my luck, it'll be the one in the block, not the one in the head.  I'll have a look at the weekend see what's going on.. !

I had the same problem last year it turned out to be the core plug on the block had rusted through garage had to lower the front of the engine to get to it.
£3.00 core plug £££££££ to fix they said it was a real pain to get to and a lot of labour.
