Mate i sympathise with you,i had this on my r5gt and it turned out to be a cracked head opening up when hot and under load,you dont say which engine you have so i cant really give you any more info,sorry.
can the thermostat not opening/closing correctly lead to pressurisation?

Hi all, i have a problem still with over heating, the engine seems to be over pressurising, I've done all the usual thing i:e gaskets, pipes, rad, pump, flushed etc, I've even changed the expansion tank cap just incase but still no joy, does anyone have any other idea's it could be.Thx Jav.
dont know what type of h/ gasket you used but l/r now supply them multi layer gaskets . aparently supperseded the older elring type . personally i try and find these .think the elring ones are better . i wouldnt use the newer one . infact think theres one in me garage somwhere i ordered and when it come didnt use it .. would definatly get a straight edge across it and see iff its warped . and because you have had trouble for a while with it . it may be worth as already said get it tested . . good luck with it . alan...
