For the "clicking" noise I'd be looking at the condition of your CV on that side, normally they would only do this with the difflock in but if it's really gone then it may well do it without the difflock in.
The squeeling noise doesn't ring any bells, although it could be connected, half-shaft maybe?
The movement is likely to be the swivel bearings, you may get away with just removing some shims from the top pin, if there are any in there, otherwise it's new bearings.
If it's a 300 series then check the bearing in the back of the stub axle, this is a small roller bearing that can go and cause the end of the CV to set off a vibration in the steering. Older models have a bronze bush in there. ;)
You can do one side at a time and there are no special tools required.
For the notchy steering, check you steering damper to make sure it's not bent or has rust on the main shaft.
