Help needed in pc burb please.
« on: November 14, 2008, 18:33:23 »
right then. This pc is driving me round the absolute twist with its ultra slowness.

I am looking on Tesco for a new pc as I have £43 of club card vouchers to bring the price down. I hope I can use them for online orders?

Anyway.

does this look ok http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.204-6385.aspx

I think it goes over the basics my lodger said I need to have. I dont want vista though as I am worried my 2 printers wont work with it.

thoughts please.

Seems ok for the price. You also get more club points as well.

As for the printers, look on the makers site to see if there is drivers for them in Vista,

Personally:

I'd only buy veggies and groceries from Tesco's - spend your club points on them.

Acer's are ok at entry level, but then again I'd rather have a custom build for £500 or less from a SHOP that Specialises in computers, not a supermarket - Oh yeah and I wouldn't touch microsoft with a barge pole anymore - Linux or Mac OSX for me now, its soooo much better.

well I am not a huge fan of microsoft either but as most things run on Ms and I know how to use it and I am nearly as thick as cheese with pc's then I think I will stick with what I know.

I have looked at pc world and currys and nothing there seemed as good for the stuff you get.

I have a Fujitsu at the mo and that has been nothing but problems since I bought it a few years ago.  Hard drive has died, fans inside etc.
