300Tdi Dash switches...
« on: November 16, 2008, 00:56:46 »
Hi,

Whilst I had the cowling off round the speedo I noticed that the were extra wires there for some switches.

Does anyone know what they are?  I'm assuming the rest of the loom would be there too.

Currently I've got....

Rear Fog Light                                          Rear Window Wash
Heated Rear Screen                                 Rear Window Wipe
BLANK                                                      BLANK
BLANK                                                      BLANK

So can anyone fill in the blanks?  There are two connectors at each side.

Also does anyone have an idea what could be wrong if my speedo reads completley incorrectly.  i.e. I have to look at the KM/h reading and half it to get mph....

Cheers,

Ian

The blanks are for the stereo remote controls, not 100% sure which ones go where as I've not had a Disco with them fitted.

Can't help with the speedo though.

If you fit the switches (even without the matching radio) they illuminate when the lights are on. I fitted some as I hate empty switch blanks.

Some here.

Ah it all becomes clear now!  Thanks for that.  Where would the heated front screen switch usually be located, I'd assumed that it would be under the rear one.

No. On my old Disco it was down by the cruise control.

Rear Fog Light                                          Rear Window Wash
Heated Rear Screen                                 Rear Window Wipe
Volume up                                                Search Station
Volume down                                            Cant remember

So can anyone fill in the blanks?  There are two connectors at each side.

Thats right. On cd it does up track or change cd and on radio it does station search and mw-fm etc.
