The water will drain back out of the wading plug hole and friction heat generated by the clutch should dry it out quite quickly. Muddy water is quite abrasive, so a jet of water aimed inside the wading plug hole while the engine is ticking over should flush it all out. If you still suffer fron clutch judder after a few days, then you have a problem.

Areal stunning photo mate but when i did that it washed all the grease out of my swivel housings and the bearings were lubricated with ford water, with that said i spent a good 5 hours going back and forth and the rubber seal that goes round them was shot. Its great when you go swimming aint it :D

No, thats the breathers you thinking of(??), if not extended it would be wise to check your oils (g/box, t/box, diffs) are not full of water.
The holes are to let any oil leaks (failed seals etc) out so they are at the bottom.

If you look underneath the engine one is in the bellhousing directly under the flywheel/clutch. You might find the wading plug in its storage space, identified by the square top for a bolt head.  ;)

sure that wasnt the canal  you were driving down .great pic.  like already said iff you havent extended the breathers i'd check all the axles and box's for water .. the other thing is there is a wading hole under the timing cover and the breather for the deisel tank is surprisingly low . alan...

Your carpets will start to stink soon I recon (talking from experience!) I ripped all my carpets and sound deadening out. Didn't make to much difference to the noise, and I could weld up the front of my footwells where water had been trapped.

Done the same in my 1997 300Tdi too.
Used a stanley knife to carefully cut out all the sound proofing and carpets - threw them away and just got rubber mats on metal now. Much easier to clean too - you can get the hosepipe inside to wash the motor out (just like my 90 )
