200tdi noise

my mate just got himsef a 200tdi but its making a viberating noise at about 2300rpm and stops at about 3000rpm sounds like its comming from the passenger side floor tried holding exhaust when doing it but makes no diff and he said the exhaust is not touching anything any idiea's anyone?

Is it when revved staionary or when it is driven? If its when driven it could be the propshaft UJ's or a wheel bearing.

UJ and wheel bearings are usually road speed related vibrations not engine speed.

Good question about stationary or driven.

if its doing it when stationary try the back plate for the breakes   as mine got bent a bit offroading and ratteld but if only  when moving  try as the others sugest
As a youth I could run up and down stairs all day now I'm older it takes me all day just to walk upstairs

it was while stationary but he has sold it now as his wife did not like it nevermind back to finishing my 90 shame i not have the cash would have had it for the engine
