« on: November 30, 2008, 11:50:09 »
right after recent sunroof woes and the removal and resealing of, i have a strange fault occurring  parked up last night and closed all the doors windows etc and i check the both sunroofs are shut( i,m sorta paranoid about them) come out this morning to find the front one fully open :-k now i know i checked them last night and both kids have been nowhere near them and i cant blame the wife ,she was out,  so what gives????

well If it helps mine dont open or close so put the 2 systems together and we mioght get 1 ssytem that works as it should?

OR

Maybe this is how everyone elses disco's end up wet in side from a leaking sun roof.

OR

You have a relative of Herbie and your right in thinking the disco is sulking.

Assuming it's an electric sunroof, I had a 300 V8 a while ago and that had an auto opening front sunroof as well.
Only mine opened on the way to work in the pooring rain and then refused to close using the buttons so I had to manually close it with the allan key (after I got to work!!).

I never figured out what the cause of mine was as it had a new ECU, a good working motor in the front, new motor in the back and it all worked prior to that night. The auto opening seemed to occure at the same time as I hit a bump in the road so it may have been a bad earth or something like that.
I didn't both with trying to fix it, I just removed the connections from the ECU and left it like that until it was sold.
After all, who needs a sunroof in the Outer Hebrides?

i know on some early rover cars you had to reset the windows and sunroofs when they had the batts disconected or parts fitted .used to disconnect the batt re fit then 1 in turn close the windows and sunroof till they shut then press the button again till you heard a  click . do them all and job done.. dont know weather the disco has the same sort of system  ?..
