Mud on road

well folks as some of you may or may not of noticed the potato and shuggerbeat season is well in the swing and yes the roads are covered with a libral coating of mud, the day started of with good intentions, till I met the shugger beat lorry down the road, I thought we drove on the left not according to his rules, we both touched our breaks (nice with insa saharas on a 3.9 v8 rrc) well bless my trousers I thought I would need to change my under wear as the wrechid tyres lost traction on the mud and I was thinking wall, lorry or hedge, well I never new a rangi could be such an affective hedge trimmer, fortunatly no one hert just got to bodge the exhaust till after crimbo a bit louder than normal, just thougt Id reminde a few (like me  :oops:) to take it easy on the roads and see christmass

VERY LUCKY.........i've always wanted to , when i see a sign " MUD ON ROAD ", turn the corner and see the 70's group doing TIGER FEET.....now that would be a HARRY HILL moment :dance:

Not wishing to pick sides but it sounds like you were both at fault.
He was on the wrong side of the road and you were travelling too fast if you couldnt stop safely!
Dont wish to cause an arguement!
I regularly drive along muddy roads pulling trailers and it is always safer to slow down a bit when you get on a muddy road, especially now that it freezes and turns to icy mud.......NOT cool

well I had a brown trouser moment in a refuse lorry today down a farm track. only doing 10mpg along thier concrete drive but the front wheel hit some black ice and slipped off the road then the rear wheels followed and I could feel me getting dragged into the bank more and more. hankfuly dabbing the brakes allowed the front wheel to pull itself back onto the concrete and get on with my journey safely and not head down the bank.

All this was at 10mph. Put a reminder in my head that roads can be more dangerous than you think even at very low speeds!

Report the mud on the road to the local council, they'll send someone out to inspect and get it cleaned up. The bill will be passed to the persons depositing the mud on the roads. Will make it safer for other drivers and probably make the company clean up after itself.

MUD ON ROAD ....biggest waste of space ever- plus they are ilegal - hence why ALL sites now MUST have a truck wash, and road sweepers in atendance .. another H+S 'overkill' but farmers get away with a badly painted bit of hardwood - GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
