Gaming advice required!!!
« on: December 08, 2008, 06:21:11 »
Well after thinking long and hard about it after about 1 year of hankering after one I finally bit the bullet...and bought an Xbox 360!

Thing is at the minute I don't have many games and want to get a few more in I am mainly into racing games whether it be on track or off-road racing games.

Games list at the moment is: 007 Quantum of Solace, PGR 4, Moto GP '07, Dead or Alive 4, Virtua Fighter 5,  WWE: Raw vs Smackdown '07...

I also like the GTA games so will be getting GTA 4 in the not too distant future and will also be getting live pretty shortly, is there anyone on here with a 360 that can recommend some decent games?

I also have an affection for shooter games (especially the ones with a sniper rifle involved!) so any recommendations would be great!

+2" Bearmach blue springs, +2" ProComp ES9000 Shocks, 31x10.50R16 Colway MT's, Heavy Duty steering arms, Safari snorkel, Midland CB radio, Extended bump stops, fully chequer plated rear.

Soon to have:
Full length roof rack, more lights than you can shake a stick at, +2" spacers, 2" lowered twin shock turrets, dislocation cones all round, Heavy duty bumpers. Possibly bigger tyres (Much bigger!!!) and more than likely body lifts etc.

Where to start!

The Halo franchise is good for online playing. Sniping and all....

Call of Duty is a must, supposedly the best game out, personally buying that this week.

PGR 4 is the best racing game IMHO, tho Forza is looked on highly aswell.

Don't really play anything other than Halo and PGR

Forza 2 is a cracking game - and if you can get to race the Aerial Atom - great fun beating Lambos and ferraris :D:D:D
DIRT is also a good game - bit long winded in places, but you get to unlock classics and TRUCKS

The thing I love about PGR 4 is the fact that in all my years on various consoles I have never ever seen a realistic reproduction of production motorbikes, they seem to have thought about everything the handling characteristics are excellent etc right down to the noises!

I used to love Forza on the original Xbox so will definitely be buying Forza 2 as and when money allows it (christmas coming up!)

But CoD I used to have "Big Red One" on the Xbox and that game was absolutely amazing! so the new CoD will definitely be going in my collection...

As for Dirt, any idea what the trucks are

Wouldn't mind playing "Pure" either...

Can't be bothered (afford?) to upgrade my PC to play the latest games at full spec, can play a graphically dumbed down game of Halflife2- TeamFortress 2, day of defeat2 online etc but mostly use my laptop these days with no gaming capability.

So I have got an Xbox360 coming to take off edge off the video game craving and will of course want to play COD 4 and 5 as multiplayer online. What's the score with getting an xbox online for these console games, do you have to pay a separate service subscription beyond my cable ISP?

£40 a year for Xbox Live Gold subscription, well worth the money IMHO...not tried it on the 360 yet but the gameplay on the original Xbox online was fantastic, I was on it every Sunday morning on PGR 2 without fail!

Nice as well as you can either have the messenger pad for typing messages to people and also to go on the internet with or you can have the  wired or wireless headset if you prefer to talk to the people...that way people can hear you calling them a motherbleep for spinning you out on a corner!!!

If its racing you like, then GRID is the game to go for. I have got it on the pc, and mine is a gaming machine.

I have bought it for my son for christmas on the 360, with the wheel. Although im not a fan of them. He wanted it. :)

Have been enjoying COD5 on the xbox360 over Christmas break, solo and multi player online. My Mrs has got further than me on the solo game  I'm still in the Berlin metro acting like a suicidal Rambo with a MG42.

Will defo get the COD4 some time. But thinking about Grand Theft Auto next. Anyone got that? any good? I played much earlier versions on PC and enjoyed them.

Also is it worth getting a 2nd gamepad?

Where do you guys buy games? I seen GTA is on Amazon new for £25.00 with free delivery where as elsewhere it's around £39.00.

although ive got a ps3 the gameplay ive seen is more or less the same as the xbox... and let me tell you its awesome!

ive seen it for less than 20 notes on ebay for either console.. i bought mine for 22 quid..

spent/spending hours on it and ive barely scratched the surface

can be cheaper than that. if you register your net passport as an american, then you can buy gold membership on e bay from the states and the coding works. costs me about half what it would cost if purchased in the uk.

There's some cheating mofo's on cod5 online aye. Using map/bug glitch to slip under some maps in certain places where they remain unseen yet can kill anyone passing nearby above them  Hope they patch the game.
