Air Leak?
« on: December 08, 2008, 18:46:29 »
Hi all.

I'm after some pearls of wisdom here.  I've Replaced the head gasket on my 1994 auto ES 'project' discovery. The head was skimmed and pressure tested.

It starts and runs fine but there is a drumming noise like an air leak at around 2500 revs but only when under pressure.

I can't recreate the problem on the drive.  Even with someone in the car - the car in drive and the foot break on I still don't get the leak.

The sound seems to be just behind the bulkhead on the drivers side.  I've looked at all the unions on the pressurised air system and they 'seem' to be fine.

Have I missed something.

Please help. It's driving me mad.

Thanks

J

Lost me there.  If it was something like that wouldn't it be blowing all the time.  I can accelerate past the point that it blows back to normal.

It's almost like there is a hose off somewhere.
