Wii fit?
« on: December 13, 2008, 11:58:36 »
anyone got a wii and think it keeps them fit?

Having just taken up my new career in life (lorry driver) I am getting very little exercise compared to when I was a postie a few years ago.

So instead of signing up to a gym then spending loads of money on fuel to and from the gym 10 miles away I have thought about a wii as they look like they give you a good work out in your own home in the dry no fuel costs and th cost of a wii is the same as a year at the gym so all round better off I think maybe?

Anyone bought a wii to get fit and has it worked?

i used to use mine all the time, it is really good, but got out of the habit when i went up to 5 days working from 3 days - new years resolution is to get back on it.

when i trapped a nerve (sciatic) and was in agony, i did the yoga and muscle exercises and over a few weeks went from screaming in agony when i put my foot down to being able to hop and skip again (yes i do have kids!)

when the girls play tennis - they sweat , but i am the hula hoop queen!

i have to say we love it - and have seriously considered buying one for my 80 year old dad to keep him fit!

regards

ela

ps at my best my wii fit age was 23 years younger than my actual age!!!!!!
Sonar - DII V8 now become a toy
Pugsley (peugeot 407) now sitting dead in a garage workshop, being replaced by Yeti the kia carens!
Bagheera - geoff's new(ish) car - a black jaguar!
love is....a husband who is prepared to put petrol in his wife's V8 without flinching - now has admitted to flinching occasionally

But you have to play it right to get any fitness benefit. You can sit on the sofa just waving your hands about gently to play tennis

only time I have played it at mates house was olympics and running and I do remember getting a sweat on and being puffed out and for some reason my legs were moving when all it needed was the hands for the running events!
