Disco Probs - Drubbing - lack of power.......
« on: December 17, 2008, 13:29:52 »
Hi

Girlfriend just phoned to say her disco 95 model ES with a 200tdi in it, is causing worries......

symptoms- lack of power..... a drubbing noise, sounding like something is catching on a wheel..... checked for obvious, wheel bearings and all seem fine no movement....

Anyone any thoughts what other obvious things....

Follow-up:

Sourced the drubbing and vibration.... Prop shaft.... hardi-spicer given up the ghost...

Going to give it a service and see if that improves the power issue.....,

check intercooler pipes.

if its on vegoil or bio derv it will be the weather - i had a container of veg in the back of mine, which has turned to something resembling vaseline..... glad it wasnt in the tank!

is it smokey at all?
clogged injectors, fuel lines, filters.....?
I stil ay prime suspect is an induction leek, grit on the roads will happily punch through an intercooler, and cold rubber pipes are more likely to split this time of year.

good luck!
