water leaking from rear

  hi to everyone and have a happy xmas
hope someone can give me some advice i have a leak that appeares to come from the rear quarter panel speaker :x
have checked alpine lights and put some clear sealant around to no avail, what and where else should i check,
also does anyone have the part number for the rubber mat under the rear load space  as mine is a bit wet  :lol:,
have to replace drivers door lock spring  "how hard and time to do"

Hi Roy,

Merry Xmas,

I've had this on both my Disco's.  It's always been the same place :)  Outside where the gutter meets the rear quarter there is a deep groove which LR sealed with some Seam sealant that degrades over time and lets water in.

Just clean it up outside and then fill the gap with some silicone and hopefully job done.

Yep X2.

Had to do both of my top corners last winter.  You may need to take the trim piece off the gutter to get all of the old gunk out and dont forget to check under the gutter where the roof/side/rear panels join as mine was leaking there as well.......
Son, life has a habit of kicking you in the ass and i only have vague recollections of when it wasn't kickin mine!

hi just finished the water test around alpine lights  no leak  :D : dried the gutter then put water in it and hey presto water leak ,have dried the gutter and sealed the whole gutter with clear sealant ,,
 i hope thats cured it will check when sealant dries with yet more water

Door lock=fiddly, totally depends on your dexterity and double jointedness.
