out of order
« on: December 19, 2008, 23:22:24 »
 Been to B&Q today as the tap in the bathroom is leaking.  Tried the washer and thought ok but started dripping  so bought new taps  ;)

Well to cut a long story short I took little fella (21 months old) and let him carry the taps, took them to the checkout PAID and the nice lady gave them back to him. Well the alarm sounds on the way out so we turn round to a 50ish year old bloke saying "starting him young arent you" ......... light fuse and stand well back....... I lost it     [-X after a few WORDS he sheepishly left the store.... the nice lady says ' it's ok, it happens' and we leave.

Am I being a bit sensitive  :? :? :? :? or is this out of order????

Thanks for reading this as it has really upset me when people can say this when he not even 2 yet

I know how you feel; our 2 year old has a red circular birthmark on her forehead; when she was smaller it was very prominent and people (especially women) would accuse us of dropping her or ask how she got the bruise. My wife would get really upset I just called them utterly stupid; "Are you really stupid enough to think that a baby could have a bruise taht size on the head and survive?"

The scary thing is people like this can breed!

If nothing else immediately ask for a refund and write a letter to head office.

Not an employee, dont think he even bought anything either

Bit of a mixed reaction, came close to hitting him but brain stepped in and he just got some verbal abuse, couldnt stay calm as it is one of my big worries of what kind of chance does he stand in todays/tomorrows society when 15 year olds carry guns knives etc. and use them

Too late, red mist appeared  but if it was said to me.... wouldnt have bothered me

TBH is the kind of off the cuff joke you would get any where around here, I personally would see no harm in it and laughed it off, if not as I said joked further.
And I may have even made a joke like that myself if the kids Dad looked amicable enough, a joke like that can even diffuse an embarrassing situation.

Im not trying to criticise anyone but just  replying to a question

Best thing is it happened to me this afternoon in asda, the girl never took the tab off my bottle of scotch and as I walked out bells went, should have had my Mrs walk out with another one in her shopping  bag

Yeah I thought it was quite amusing. I could see myself saying somthing very similar with a smile on my face.
Maybe not now though after reading this.

It cant be all that brilliant for your little lad either, going off on one and getting all agressive in front of him, especially when he probably dosent understand why, If he starts thinking there are people about in B&Q who need shouting at if they talk to you it cant do much for his confidence.

The fact that you even considered hitting the guy worries me.

As always IMHO!

Walking out of a shop carrying taps?
It is a bit young to start him behaving like that yes.
He cant even start a plumbing course until he is 16 but you can start off with a few words of Polish now  ;)
Watch out theres a tigger about!
