West Lancs Classic Tractor Run
« on: December 25, 2008, 15:25:53 »
If anyone around the West Lancashire area is bored on Boxing Day & fancies some time out of the house, keep a look out for the annual Boxing Day Classic Tractor run.
We'll be starting off from the Ring O Bells pub near Lathom HERE at approx 10:30 in the morning.
I'm not sure of the exact route, but we'll be going over Parbold Hill HERE & will be stopping off at a pub for lunch.
My boss should be there on the finally finished & restored Muir Hill 101:

And I should be there on the County 1174 that I use at work:

If you spot us, say hello or give us a wave as we hold the traffic up on Parbold Hill

It's a lettuce harvesting rig with the arms folded up.
In the field it looks like this:

There was a good turnout & when we arrived at the Ring O Bells several groups had already set off.

A classic John Deere:

& a Nuffield:

We had a run up Parbold Hill & passed the Wiggin Tree pub at the top where there were 100's of motorbikes enjoying a day out. We stopped for lunch at the Rigbey Arms HERE & then a run through Bispham Green, then Rufford before returning to the workshop.
There were certainly plenty of people out & about, most of which gave us a cheery wave & a smile (apart from a group of ramblers who glared at us as we passed ).
