Hi
When i did mine all i needed was the R380's handbrake cable and the speedo drive from the lt77 box on the 200.
I think i also used the R380,s crossmember. I was a few years back and my memory fades after a few days......

Yep, the handbrake cable on an LT77 is rod actuated on the box, whereas the R380 is cable actuated all the way into the box, so you will need the R380 cable. The crossmember will fit, but it is easier to use the R380 crossmember.

The speedo drive either needs to be swapped for the LT77 one, or use an R380 speedo cable. Either way will work.

R380 won't have a speedo cable it will have a speed transducer on the gearbox.  Later LT77s had a short cable to a speed transducer on the chassis.

I don't know whether you can attach a cable to the R380 box that easily but I presume others have found it easy.

Does anyone else think the later handbrakemechanism is poo? the one on our TDi is rubbish despite having a brad new cable on it and a good old strip down it's not a patch on the cable and rod handbrake on Blue

Anyhoo, on the LT230 T-Box you should be able to mix 'n' match handbrakes.

Can't comment on the crossmember but if you can't find one locally and you need it give me a shout.

If the lt77 is from a disco with a speedo cable, you will have to swap the gear aswell as the hole in the r380 disco drive is smaller and the cable dont fit, as for the cross member it will fit as long as you swap the R380 mounts to the replacment box, done this many times without any issues, just dont forget reverse in in a different place lol
