Hi i have 1 99 cherokee 4.0l
i noticed the header tank was empty so topped it back up with anti freeze mix and ran it for a few days to find it empty again.
i did notice a small amount of water coming from underneath but cant find where, i have filled it up again and its gone down again this time havent seen any water coming from underneath just stam,
ive cheacked the dipstick and filler cap and cant see any soigns of water in the oil and the car dont over heat and runs fine,
anyone got any idears.

Check the water pump at the front of the engine for any sign of dampness.

ok guys thanks for the info
will hopefully get a chance to have a look today, its done 190,000 miles and been serviced by the one onwer who had it before me, so im hoping its nothing major,
if not i will buy another one and use this for parts, lol

I have had to do 4 water pumps in the last 18 months, all around 140k miles on the I-6, seems to be the limit of the factory pump.
