Quick question guys n gals will freestyle alloys fit straight onto a 110 [-o<,it's an E plate so has drums on the rear and the normal front end or would i need spacers,cheers Andy.

Hi yes they will fit, but the center caps wont cus the halfshaft sticks out that little to far, its the grease cap on the end that sticks out,

There is the problem that they are not rated to take the weight of a 110.
They were designed for the disco and got used on 90s but the 110 is too heavy for them. :'(

Boosts are fine, my dads 110 has them on it. Not sure about XS's you would need to check that, cant remember off the top of my head.

Yes 'Boost' are okay on a 110, as are 'XS' style.



My 110 has 'XS' as a standard fitment (click on pic to enlarge)



If 'push comes to shove' with regard to an insurance claim after a RTC, & you're at fault, you can bet a 'pound to a penny' that the wrongly rated alloys (if you fit 'FreeStyles') will be found out, & there will be a claim that the vehicle was not road-worthy at the time of the incident

Ive used freestyle alloys on a 110 with no problems, it ran for nearly 5 years towing my rally car around, would be interesting to find the weights of a disco compered with a 110, but hey everyone to there own,  :grin:

I wasnt saying you cant use them, they will take the weight even though they are not rated for it.
However, i dont want blame lying at my door if someone has an accident and the insurers find out about the under rated wheels because i said they could.

Thanks guys - Boosts now in my possesion waiting to be fitted,i asked the guy and he said they could be fitted but without spacers the wheel nuts are not fully on :shock: and could work loose?. Bush Tucker have you got yours fitted without spacers or not (not holding you to anything so don't panic,cheers guys Andy.

My dads have no spacers on them as standard from land rover!!!! so hope they arnt loose :? :-.
What age is your defender?  You may still need the spacers to clear the hubs, bearing in mind that boosts have a fair bit more offset then freestyles do

Sorry, my internet cut off and sent only half the message.
As there is more off set you may need wider arches when used with spacers.
I know that my dads boosts have a similar offset to my freestyles on spacers  :?

BTM, isn't yours a 300?

Andy, I'm pretty sure you can't fit standard alloys to a 200 Defender as th ehubs are differnet, it's only slight but without modification the alloys don't sit properly against the flange.  Cherck the ends of the studs, if they have a triangle or slot stamped in them they are for use with alloys, if not then allosy don't fit.

I've heard you can grind a tiny bit off the inside of the wheels, I've heard you can remove the spring washers from under the bolts holding the drive memebers in place, I've never tried either.

If you need any axle parts let me know, somewhere I've got a whole load of bits with new bearings in them.

Or you could just use wheel spacers to get them to fit properly!
It would also gain you a bit more steering lock which is never a bad thing  [-o<

The 'Heritages' are Td5's (so no playing with bio-diesel (<errs on the side of caution>)

Took the plunge and bought some spacers so hopefully on Monday i should be able to get spacers and wheels fitted.
