"Nasty Noise pt2"
« on: March 07, 2005, 20:29:50 »
As I have now found out from further investigation and various sources, I now have no transfer box, as it now has'nt as many teeth as it should have!!!!!!
So my trusty old Rangie is laid up until parts become available or I might break it and cut my losses, (just how much do you keep on paying ??). Decisions, decisions, decisions !!!!!
If anyone is interested, give me a good reason if it should live or die !!!
Im so depressed that I had to go out and buy a Ford Escort 1.3 L just for transport to work etc !!!

Get a second hand one and stick it in, if you've spent all that time sorting it out wouldn't it be a shame to break it, especially if you're goinfg to buy another and have the whole job to do again.  We've had our Rangie 2 years now and I think (dare I say it) that I'm getting to to the bottom of the problems and bodges etc and now have a decent car.  I hate to think how much it's cost (time included) but I wouldn't part with it now.  Of course with hindsight I wouldn't have bought it either.

You can get a *good* transfer box for 150 quid.... less if you find a bargain.

It's not a terrible job... better with a mate to help.

Shame to waste a good vehicle for the sake of something like that.

£150 sounds about right - I've sent you a PM.
