Scorpion have gone bust. I have some pics somewhere of my mates 300 series V8 which has a lift and a few other toys somewhere Ill try to look out for you.

Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere for the kit you want!!

Scorpion Racing (scrapiron racing as they are often known!) appear to make up the prices as they go along, they have been accused by several manufacturers of copying their kit and they do not have a good reputation among many 4x4 users!

A simple internet search will point you in several directions.

im very new to lift kits and wouldn't know a good kit if it smacked me in the face :oops:

i was looking at the scorpion racing extreme kit which is way ott for what i need but its cool isn't it!! what would be the best kit to go for as i want something that i can use on the road every day the go offroading and get some serious articulation.

Do yourself a favor and try someone else!

Scapiron racing are over priced thats why they don't have publish prices or no one would buy their products.

I've used disco parts before but I think they have gone bust either that or they've  moved their website. 

Try contacting wizard on this site he does body lift kits. A lot easier that raising the suspension and gives you the option later if you want to lift the suspension to get 35"  MT wheels  [-X I'm also got a dislocating suspension that offer 11" of travel from Llama 4x4.

Longer/harder springs, extended shocks, extended brake lines (goodridge), wide angle or double cardan props, poly bush kits, castor correction arms, etc etc, are available from many manufacturers.

The full challenge kit is £1300 or so but that does include everything (you even get propshafts, brake lines, spring relocation cones, etc - it's a full suspension package rather than a lift kit).

If i rember rightly the extreme kit from scorpion is over £3000 if that helps. if its suspention stuff your afeter then this guy is suposed to be very good.

As mentioned elsewhere in this thread, you can only buy Scorpion Racing bits from Scorpion Racing, just as you can only buy Marks and Spencers products from Marks and Spencer.

Nick, what do you want from your Discovery?

Do you want some over lifted extreme machine or do you want a useable everyday machine that will still cut it off road?

Yes you can spend £3K on a lift kit, but that is for machines that spend the majority of their time off road in extreme terrain. For mere mortals a 2 inch lift from Terrafirma http://www.lrparts.co.uk/terrafirma/ will be sufficient!! (there are plenty of other kits from places like Paddocks, John Craddock, Devon 4x4, etc etc etc!)

A two inch lift will allow fitment of 235/85R16 tyres so you get a another inch of clearance under the diffs (a suspension lift in its own right does not do this!!)

You will also not need to castor correct anything nor have a cardon propshaft! but I would recommend extending the brake lines and the bump stops!!

Just throwing money at your Landrover will not give you a decent machine, you need to learn how to drive it, how it handles in different situations, and what does what when and where!!

Just because Scorpion Racing have big expensive adverts in the magazines does not make them a good supplier, they do not have a good reputation! and their kit is over priced. They do not manufacture anything themselves although they do now have stuff made in China!!

I'll echo the above comments, cheque book offroading will only get you so far. For a start a small lift and a set of bigger Mud tyres will be good, maybe then after some more offroading you'll get sick of knocking the end caps off the bumpers so HD one's front and rear. Then you might bend a track rod so some Sumo bars will go on the shopping list. Then whilst sticking them on you'll notice a small ding on a diff case so a pair of proper diff guards will go on.

Make a start on the mods and then get out there and enjoy yourself, by then knowing what terrain you drive the most will help you decide what mod is best next.

Brake lines definetly, bump stops is not a requirement of a lift kit.
If you fit drop shock mounts then you will need to prevent the axle from smashing the damper to pieces then big bump stops can be useful
I run 33" tyres with a 2" lift all on standard damper mounts and dont have any issues of the axle going to high or the tyres going to far up into the arches.
Save your cash for something more useful

I fitted bearmach springs (+2) and procomp dampers 4 years ago and they are still going strong .. total cost £234 + 55 quid for five extended brake lines from llama 4x4 (good bloke) and a set of 235/85 remoulds ..so for less than £500 you can do quite a lot on a budget  :dance:

from what I've seen you can get everything scorpion do from the origional developers of the products for a much cheaper price...

Exactly what I'm thinking. 235/85 R16s, 1in lift, trimmed arches. Should get the extra height where it's wanted but reduce problems with CofG, steering, propshafts, etc.

Was (again 'was') what was going to happen to my old disco, seemed the best route for every day+play and a mate I knew ran the set up with 265/75 BF muds on a 3 door (don't think 265s would go on a 5 door quite).
I need to starft looking into 110 bits..........

this is my every day car and weekend palything,and i mean 365 days a year and i have had no probs all



i run +2 springs and dampers,i havent touched the lines and on full drop i still have over a 2inch of free play in all the lines,and left the bump stops standard.
with 31,10,50.r15 wheels and tyres,

i have mates that have spent ££££s on theres and i can keep my wheels on the ground longer and tuck my wheels in further than any of them,

and best of all,no cutting at all with springs that have coverd over 6000 miles so are super soft :dance:

ok well im looking to use my truck for going to work and collage every day but i want something with lots of wheel drop and something that's going to look bad ass when i pull up next to my mates with there gay Peugeot and saxo tins! so those pictures gave me some good ideas.

o and its got to be TUFF! because it might get some abuse down some farm tracks! so what i have planed is:

pro comp +1" springs or 2" cant decide :? i think it will be 2" as it looks cooler  :D
Goodrich hoses
dislocation cones front and back
2" drop twin front turrets but i don't know if you can get them so might go with a single shock 2" drop
2" drop rear shock mounts
longer bump stops

anything elts i might need?

only one thing what shocks because i want some long ones which i can get a lot of drop out off? or will it be a lot withe the dropped shock mounts?

i might cut the arches but its a five door and im not shur if i want to do it and muck it up

i think i will go for a 31/10/16 or something around there.

dont bother with the  droped mounts of turrets of your fitting long shocks i would got for some procomps or alike
