Blank Canvas
« on: January 17, 2009, 22:53:38 »
I've just bought a new wheel cover for my LR and was wondering what to put on it. I'm tired of advertising my local dealer (even although they give me a good discount on parts).

Any suggestions? It's black and blank.

How about a Mud Club Splat?

Maybe... But a bit obvious :)

(Are the silver ones actually shiny / silver foil, or just a grey colour?)

There are a few slogan stickers on ebay - I found "Don't follow me, you won't make it"

Do proofread before buying as I have seen some shocking spelling and grammar on auction-sold stickers. You'd think that the people making them would check before firing the machinery up and making a batch of fifty but apparently not. All they need to do is tap the phrase into an online English (not American) dictionary and it'll tell them what's wrong.

My wheel cover is blank, and I like it like that!  I do have one small sticker on the back which says 'Warning: this Land Rover may contain nuts'

As long as its straight I dont mind. I hate wheel covers that are at an angle.

Thanks for the suggestions. It's currently looking like a MC splat, carefully applied not quite straight  ;)

I've been rear-ended often enough in other vehicles not to tempt fate with my LR, I'm really quite slender and therefore easy to kidnap (I doubt anyone would pay for my release either), and as it's a Freelander claims of "go anywhere" might not be entirely true...  :-k

I'll post a photo as and when :)

As long as you don't put 'one life, live it' on it.

I quite like making a play on the original landrover ones. Mine had  landrover dealership logo then where the sort of 'motto' type thing should be, I had some lettering done in the same font saying 'drive it like you stole it'. Was really subtle and used to crack people up when they actually read it!!!

What's wrong with putting that one it?

Not that I am, of course...
