Hello Darren, nice to meet you this afternoon, even though it was sheer coincidence.
Thanks for the 'Suzy',I'm sorry, but I still owe you a mud-flap :)

With regards to the conversation about the runs of 'Flying Scotsman' that we had, here's the posting & link
'Ride Behind The Legend'

And, also, here's the Multi-Map for the location I found for last years runs, I took this photo from that circled spot.

BTM,
There's a Lightning beside the A38 between
Plymouth and Liskeard in Cornwall.
It sits at the entrance to Castle Motors Car sales.
There used to be one at Devonport, where you catch
the ferry to Torpoint, but this was moved when the
engineering works closed down.
Saw Fred Dibnah on last night, v.good.
regards,
Paul Shapter.

That still there. I used to see that when my and dad used to take me and my brother back to school in York. Must have been early 80s.

Don't know about that one Paul.

I'm not really a big plane fan, but I like certain models;
Spifire
Hurricane
Lancaster
Vulcan
Lightning
Nimrod
Phantom
 and few others.

Oh yes & you can just make it out in the background in the stock photos (it's on a pedestal)

Last time I saw it, it had fallen onto it's tail and suffered a great deal of vandalism/graffiti.

Shame. It was very complete in those days and was quite a sight going up the A1.

Saw a Spitfire flying over yesterday (Wednesday).
There is one based at Caernarfon airfield which flies about from time to time.

Oh, what a lovely sight & sound :D  :D  :D  :D

I was proud  to be at a fly-past of the 2-seater at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage museum last year, they've also got a Lancaster in taxi-ing condition

A distinctive sound indeed .
