Fund Raising Event
« on: January 25, 2009, 19:42:34 »
Thinking about organising a fund raiser to help childrens hospices in May/June..

I thought it could consist of teams made up of different vehicles, from clean gentle off roaders to extreme mudbusters.

Essentially a series of events from road treasure hunts, to greenlaning treasure hunts, to trials, to mental tests, to punch events. Everyone from the team can take part, but one vehicle per event, it will be laid out over a few counties and over a weekend. You could make up your own team (members, name etc). There will be acost of entry (nominal to cover costs [hire of sites, camping etc]) and a sponsorship as well (no set figure, just whatever you can raise!) I would need help orgainising it, also ideas for events and sites etc. also if you are interested in partaking.

thats something you dont see anymore

vehicular treasure hunt

i did one with my cousin years and years ago back home where you had a list of telephone boxes across the county and you had to drive there and get the telephone number.. the further away from the finish the higher the score

quite clever.. but these days with mobiles you can cheat which means it pointless

Be careful running a Road Treasure Hunt, it is covered by Competition rules as it is a timed event, so you need to inform the MSA and the Police.

An event run that way is classed as a Navigational Scatter not a treasure hunt.

As Llanigraham has said theres a lot more to running one of these than you imagine.

There is of course already such an event being run the Macmillan 4x4 Challenge, anyone who would like to donate to Macmillan to add to my fund can do so on the link n my sig.

I have run a few and entered quite a few and even won once!!

Lee if you need any info on running one let me know. But if its over 12 cars then run it as above under the scatter rally rules.
