you have my sympathy on that one, matey!
I eat chocy and end up with the migrane from Hell. I usually take soluble paracodol tablets and go to a dark room for a couple of hours. Not good.

I get them and they can be "triggered" by the usual things, chocolate, cheese, bright lights but TBH if I'm going to get one it just needs the excuse.

I've had the same, like I said I think it's the trigger, not the cause.  I remeber once eating a baked potato with cheese, had that hundreds of times but this once I wasn't enjoying it and realised I was starting to feel sick.  WIthin the hour I needed to be driven home, I couldn't see a hand in front of my face and had all on keeping the potato down, my dad said I'd have been better off being sick as the migrane might have cleared up sooner.

Anyone else had the 3 day migrane?the one that carries on overnight and takes a full day to recover from :->

Yeah i use to suffer really bad  from them to, the doc said the same thing to me to cut down on choc, cheese, caffeine, coke, and he said to eat properly thoughout the day.

There were times when the only time i was eating was me tea at 6:00 in the evening!! Since then i haven't had a proper killer of a one in ages.. (touch wood!!!)

I get them occasionally, I can eat chocky, cheese etc without any probs then suddenly one crops up out of nowhere - i suspect it's a combination of things of which tiredness is always one of them, but I think we are all guessing what kicks them off.

Often I can tell when they are coming on and take something 'normal' to knock it back before it gets hold, But either way the best thing I've found is Migraleave when they have got hold which has been the best pill I've taken for them. Only once have I ever woken up in the early hours with one and that was the pits.

I used to suffer with them a fair bit when I was in my teens - chocolate or bright sunlight used to be the worst for setting them off.  Was always pretty fortunate that they never lasted overnight.  Don't tend to get them very often now but if I feel one starting or get up with a hint of one then I'll dose up before it kicks in.

i get them now and again, chocolate on an empty stomach can do it for me or sometimes if I have a beer on an empty stomach it brings one on, blood sugar low?

I too use Migraleve, easy to get over the counter.  If I take one as soon as the "aura" comes on it ussually progresses through the aura making me unable to read or drive for half an hour or so then disapears without progressing to the pain or nausea.

These days the only problems I have are if I wake up with one AFTER it has passed the aura stage, buts its fortunately rare.

And the occasions when it does progress to nausea, I always feel better when I've puked, so if feeling bad, rather than going out for fresh air to releive the sickness, I try and encourage it to get it over with!!

They always pick the worst times too - lost many a day on holiday to them.

Worst was one that lasted several days, and the tender head lasted another week. Nothing worked to dull the pain - it was agony.

Can't take any of the "remedies" either - sleep in a darkened room's the only relief
