P38 rear seat help
« on: February 04, 2009, 18:19:49 »
My dads Rangie P38 failed on a rear seat belt Catch not working, it is the one in the middle of the larger side (drivers side)

how do you get to the bolt that holds the seatbelt catch on, i have a new clip (from a rover 400 - it is identical except the clip needs to trim the end of the buckle as it has a bit on it)

Cheers in advance

Don't you just tip up the small bit and find it there? Possibly have to take off the plastic cover first

nope i tried that, i folded it up, and there is a steel plate with a few screws in it, i took all the screws out but that only released the seat catch not the seatbelt buckle,

it is bolted in to the seat base some how??

For the MOT just prise the plastic off and fix it - the last one I did had a sweety wrapper tucked into it (aren't children wonderful?).

If you are careful you can stick it back together and if its a mess at least you have time to play to change it

cheers got your PM waveydavey

i fixed it finally, i found out it is only 3 screws to take all the plastic clips and took the bolt out and swapped it out for a seatbelt clip from a rover 400 (with the tip ground off), had to replace the clips on the other side last year so knew they fit
