How much preperation do you put into getting your vehicles just the way you want them?

I have seen this before, at first I thought it was extremely anal but if you look at what he is actually doing and how much work he's putting into this supposed 'perfection', His attention to detail is really quite astounding and the craftmanship is simply amazing!

When you think about it, if he was doing this amount of detail work in modifying a 4x4 I think we would be quite stunned at the outcome, It's just that he's making the his perfect car in the same way that we try to make our 4x4's as good as we can! So I say fair play to him for really putting in the hours for his self that most people won't notice! :clap:

Each to thier own but I dont like it.

Good craftsmanship aside its just a lot of bolt on bling that detracts from the performence of the car. God knows how much all that dynamat and ICE weighs.

Also if you are going to those lengths to make a cover for the filter housing why not make a filter housing rather than something to go over the pastic one. PS metal filler cover weigh more than plastic and tend to vibrate lose.

Lordy, I got about halfway through before I decided to chew my own leg off out of boredom. The only thing I could think of was "what a selfish t**t", all that mess he made in the street for his neighbours to deal with. OWuld have served him right if one of us had driven past and he had to start all over again :lol:

It's a vauxhall, last one I had I parked outside someone else's house and pretended it wasn't mine ;)

I like what I'm driving / riding to be clean, but I do not spend ~~hours~~ days polishing - after all, they're going to be playing in the mud!

(Although having said that, having had the paintwork on the Freelander scratched and scraped by one of those hand car wash places, it does need some attention - it looks dreadful when the sun's on it.)

I suspect that the author has a form of mild OCD, if you read the interspersed text you can see that he'd be "bugged" by knowing that there was scuffed paint under the door panels, or marker pen on the interior paintwork. Likelyhood is that he simply cannot help being that anal :(

O.M.G. what a pratt..the guys at his local 'car emporium' must love him, "Oh look its that Anal idiot - lets sell him this polish we've had lying around for years.."
£10,000 for Carnuba wax :shock: Jeez - I could get it for £100 for a kilo when I was working in the valeting trade - and that wasnt the cheap stuff either...and as for the 'spatter' being enough for him to reject the car - LOL love to be there when he tried it :lol:, and as for using a machine mop on new paint to remove blemishes-talk about arse backwards!!!! :-.
I especially love the fact he's made a great point of buying a limited edition, then removed most of the parts that make it a Ltd edition!!!! And getting the wheels painted because they took 90 mins to clean AFTER EACH DRIVE [Edited] does he actually drive the thing???

Great detail to be fair but way way over the top, I could only get to the bottom of page 1.
