rrc door lock
« on: February 12, 2009, 14:29:11 »
Hi all need some advice on the door drivers handle on my 93 classic rangey. Its stopped opening from the inside handle but opens ok from outside and the central locking works ok on that door. If i open the door then click the lock mechanism shut to mimic it being shut it then pops open using the inner handle, its like the mechanism wont move enough all of a sudden...any ideas?

What part of the mechanism is adjustable, ive took the door card off and theres a bar that goes from the inner handle to the door catch but i cant see any way of adjusting it.

With use the steel rods start to straiten out, just bend them slightly, to take out any slack and a little grease on the joints works wonders.

Common problem on old door mechanisms, just put a slight " Dogs leg " in it and all should be fine. Bazz.
