Had trouble with aol all day(from 6am ). Now I know why they are called AOHELL.Phoned up there tech phone number and got through to a, well what can say to be polite ?If onlythey could understand english !! I was told that the server was down and people were working on fixing it. It will be back on in 2 hours lol, what a joke. Was wondering what other providers are out they ? I currently pay £14 a month for wireless.
try vivaciti . . . a bit more expensive BUT theyre all english and provide a decent service, and if something goes wrong there is an ENGLISH person on the other end of the phone 24/7. ;)
There will always be good and bad stories about any company. We have been using a phone/broadband package with Virgin for a year or so.... and it can be very flakey. The best download speed we tend to get is around 500k, but we are in the boonies on the end of a very long wire! But regularly, we can't get a connection at all. With BT at work for years and it has been faultless. But you hear dreadful stories about them too.
Exchange SWADLINCOTEYour exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that it is VERY UNLIKELY you will be able to receive fixed 512Kbps or 256Kbps broadband service due to the very long length of your telephone line. However, your order will be accepted if you still wish to order. An engineer may need to visit who will, where possible, supply the broadband service. Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a potential ADSL Max broadband line rate of 250Kbps or greater.Your exchange is planned to have ADSL2+ by 31st March 2009. Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a potential ADSL2+ broadband line rate of 250Kbps or greater. The actual stable ADSL line rate supportable will be determined during the first 10 days of use. This rate may change over time, to ensure line stability is maintained. If you decide to place an order, a further test will be performed to confirm if your line is suitable for the service you wish to purchase.Thank you for your interest.Note: If you already have a Broadband ADSL service and you want to switch service providers, you will need to contact both your current provider and your new provider to get your service changed over new and existing service provider to have this service transferred.
