Vitara 1.6 Clutch

 :sad:I've just changed the clutch on my 1.6 8v Vit,took (3months)got it fired up yesterday,there's a loud noise bit like rubbing coming from the engine or gearbox,can't tell which,has anybody got any ideas.Clutch works fine,noise doesn't change wether clutch in or not wether in gear or not,just noisy all the time..help
Now got some camacs and bfg a/ts can't get it stuck.Need longer legs.

Thanks gen x May have located sound,went round engine with xlong screwdriver as a stethoscope.checked all rotating bits,got to alternator,sound is def noisier there,maybe the bearings?.Never touched alt on clutch change tho.Can u change bearings easy?I shall take alt. off and try for sound again.
Now got some camacs and bfg a/ts can't get it stuck.Need longer legs.

easy way is to slacken the belt off so you can take it off and run the engine up if noise stops change ur alty

 :doh:Done that tis the alt,tried to take it apart,but you need to heat rear bearing to get it apart.Prob wait till thing goes quit or falls apart.

 :P got it sorted,firm in Southport reconed my old alt it's like new now and was only £40 quid,he said it wa full of [!Expletive Deleted!],it was lot of it from Cown quarry.Thanks for all suggestions.
Now got some camacs and bfg a/ts can't get it stuck.Need longer legs.

No use Wadis 24 as used on aircraft,much cheaper (free) and works great.
Now got some camacs and bfg a/ts can't get it stuck.Need longer legs.
