Urgent, garage in the West Midlands area needed
« on: February 21, 2009, 09:29:27 »
Hi folks,
Due to the fact that either my clutch or gearbox is broken in my 90, I need a decent Land Rover garage in the West Midlands that collects. Add to the fact that I'm in the Mac Challenge in less than 2 weeks then the situation is even more urgent!

Any help is most appreciated!

Cheers,
  Lee

Great Bloke

I had a problem yesterday, phoned him, he said "get over here as soon as you can and we will have a look"

2hours later problem identified and on my way home. Mick is dedicated to Land Rover's and has a sound knowledge of them too, he gets my vote.

2. Range Rover Classic 300tdi SE Auto Softdash, apparently very rare.

Have you got it sorted Lee?

Mines still in the garage at the moment.  Now waiting for a new brake hose as they broke one that was on there

And after the accident I had in it 10 days ago, I've still got a bit of panel bashing before it's going to be legal enough to put on the road for the Mac.  Oh, but it's fun . . . . .

Hi folks,
My local Landy mechanic finally picked her up on Tuesday, so hopefully should be done soon. However, it wasn't what he thought it might be at first (a rather expensive stripped input shaft). But it might be a destroyed clutch. Apparently R380 gearboxes are quite good at pulling the centre out of the clutch :) But then it might be something else..

Hopefully I can get it back before the weekend so I can finish the Mac 4x4 preparation..

Thanks for all your help and suggestions :)

If all is fixed I'll be in a silver and black 90. Come over and say Hi :)

What happened? Always the way, the proverbial hits the fan days before you really need the truck :( Mine went out of action the day before the snow arrived. Sigh. It must be love with Landys otherwise I don't think any of us would put up with the hassle :)
