How about a map of the Railways of England and Wales, from around 1850?

Loads of old 1" OS maps and some early Bartholemews.

Generally speaking all our old maps get chucked although I think we do have O/S road maps of the Lake Distict that dates back to the early 60's, My dad did a cycling trip up there.

I've got some local O/S from the mid-60's (inch - mile)

One thing that people have to have pointed out on them is the lack of a M62.

I'm still amused that the many RAF bases around the York/Selby area are totally omitted (just blank areas)

I bought a 1960s Bartholemew map of Mid Wales today on ebay. Just over £3. Thinking it may be able to provide evidence of historical usage of lanes, and will be an interesting document in any case.

There are a fair number of old maps on ebay, worth a look if you're trying to complete a set.

Yes I like the old maps webiste, my place is on it as it was built on 1500 ish. Shows all the mines on the land as well so theiving pikies beware I have places to stash bodies!

Most MOD sites are not shown on maps to this day, google earth however is another kettle of fish.

Got about 20 quid for this group.

Somewhere I have a map showing all the WW2 airfields in Norfolk. Not very interesting, unless you happen to like WW2 airfields, which I do. Which is quite handy really :?

My good man that is the point i was making!!! It would appear some "shopkeepers"and i use the word very loosely, have a large problem with stock control. Mind you in their defence i can send my 10 year old daughter in for beer and combustable materials at 2230 while i finish my last beer on the sofa in comparative comfort..Ahmen.
