Devil Duckies work!
« on: March 14, 2005, 09:38:50 »
I took a really big risk yesterday, I used SWMBOs Disco (Stig) for my patrol duties at LQ.  I figured that Devil Duckie would look after me and Stig.   :D

The good news is that I was able to get home (via a jet wash, so that she doesn't know).  The bad news is that I did sustain some damage.

I heard a 'new' knocking sound from the front of the motor.  Looking under the bonnet soon revealed the problem.  The NS damper turrent had broken away from the chassis.  I just undid the top damper bolt and took the turret out because it was rubbing on the turbo hose.  Didn't want to puncture that, I wouldn't have got home then.

Interestingly, I didn't notice any difference in the handling, and the damper looks to be in very good condition (nearly new looking).

There was a guy out there that managed to hydraulically lock his 2.5NA 90.  He got it going though, injectors out, crank engine, injectors back in, start engine.  It ran rough, but it was enough to get him back to a public road for the RAC to come and get him.  He should have had a Devil Duckie.   :D

Oh, and I got a couple of actions pics at last, so my avatar has finally been updated.

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40

I wish!   Still haven't sorted that argument yet.

Easter Sunday, they'll be fitted.  Going to fit them at LQ on their tyre machine.  It'll be too late for SWMBO to do anything about it then.  I'm in the bad books today anyway, she noticed a rather smashed up side step, that I didn't know I'd done.   #-o

:D Ive not been out in the Rangie yet to test the power of the Duck. But saying that today at work a hole load of gipsys have moved in ( broke in more like ) to recently refurbeshed premises opposite work   . So whilst out and about today foing deliverys, i was wondering if the Rangie would still be there when i got back.... Got back this afternoon to find Rangie still there and in one peice. When i left this morning there was about 20 caravans, this afternoon when i returned its more like 40    and there camped up opposite a garrage that a lot of artics and wagons use. I couldnt believe my eyes when i saw some kids age about 5 - 8 playing chicken in the road with wagons driveing past Just Stupid.
The boss is haveing kittens at the moment, me im not bothered ive got Pugwash protecting the Old Girl..
If in first you dont suceed, try second....
If it aint broke, your not trying ard enough....

Regards MIKE.

I think it was probably me, the damage wasn't there Saturday, but it was Monday morning.  They are rotten anyway.
