Diff swap problem
« on: March 07, 2009, 19:28:33 »
I recently fitted a rear axle off a disco and the diff had the new type diff with the rubber donut on the flange, so i changed the flange for a four bolt flange and it did not take up all the play in the pinion shaft. Are the diffs different or am i missing something like a spacer ? cheers

yes you should have a spacer or what i do is get the old 3 bolt flange you will see it is longer than the 4 bolt flange with a hacksaw cut of the extra bit on the longer plus a bit more say about a mm extra then you will have your spacer
just get muddy
