Extended brake hoses
« on: March 22, 2009, 22:14:00 »
looking at fitting a 2 inch lift with 2" shocks (not standard like some lift kits) and 2" springs and was just wondering if i would need extended brake hoses to go with this?

Yes.

The (+)2" shocks will allow the axles to drop further than the origonal brake lines were designed for. If you also fit lowering damper mounts then these will also allow the axle to drop even further.

Typically you need to extend the brake lines by the same ammount as the increase in axle drop. One common solution is to fit longer flexible brake hoses inplace of the standard flexible hoses, another is to make short extensions from copper brake pipe to lower the point where the standard flexible line fit to the body.
