p38 "not set" warnings
« on: March 24, 2009, 14:14:02 »
Hi peeps,

When I got this p38 last week the guy had to put a new battery on it so all sorts of not set warnings was coming up. Now,I downloaded the Rave cd for P38 but handbook section is for '99 2nd edition, mine sept '97 but had a read anyway.

Says take window down and up in one movement to "set" this worked fine for the sunroof and rear windows (now have one-touch on both)

But sadly cannot "set" front windows  :'(  :'(  Guy at landrover dealer said just take 'em down and put them back up and it will reset. Help much appreciated 'cos I'm dying to see if it has "lazy-locking" (shuts everything as it alarms) on it.

Cheers

I reset the warnings on the one I borrowed last month by dropping the windows and keeping my finger on the button for 5 secs or so;  then raising them and doing the same.  If this doesn't work for you I'm not sure.

That is correct.  Any electrical opening needs to be opened and closed to its full travel (if sunroof then both the open and the tilt function).  I would probably hold switch/button down until you can hear the relay click.  I have to do this on the jag.  It will work.
