hi all
ive been offered a 9000lb winch for 50quid, jus need cleaning up, seen woorking, just i havent had a winch before and was wandering if this would be man enough to be used on a rangerover bobtail?

yeah its from a guy down here that buys anything with a winch on and sells the vechicle onn or scaps it, etc. but i didnt no if for such a cheap price it would be o.k?,  as ive herd of beigger winches and didnt no if it would be able to cope with dragging out a rr,

I had a 8000lb one in Sweden last year and got well stuck, the winch happly dragged 2 rangies backwards (using them as anchor points) instead of me forward   :(bigsmoke):

now have a 9000lb winch  :(shades):

sounds fun,lol, any other info on them, would they handle pulling a bobtail rr outof anything?any bad evperiances, where it wasnt man enough?

I run a Warn 8274 with an XP motor, and I can make that stall if I try hard enough.... there will always be a time when the winch isn't man enough.. but for most purposes 8000 - 9000 lbs is a good size.

I have a Superwinch EPi 9:0 on my Range Rover and that has got me out of some deep holes, and others too  :)

:D For £50.00 thats a bargain, even if it doesnt work. And it wont cost the earth to get running again. Got your self a good winch if it does work, you just need a winch bumper to go with it.... :wink:

It'll be really really useless.  It won't be any good to you at all.  You don't need it.   Tell your mate I'm feeling generous and will take it off him for the fifty quid asking price.   :D   :wink:
