Where to get pressed!
« on: April 27, 2009, 20:49:38 »
Hi All...

Where in Milton Keynes, can I get a Defender rear axle 'A' frame ball joint pressed in?

All the places I knew of have either gone, got rid of the presses (health and safety) or want silly money (£50) to do it, just because I didn't buy the thing from them.   Some say the person I need to speak to is busy and will call back, but never does.

The sticking point is, that it has to be within 15 minutes (car) drive of the Kingston area (MK East) so I can get there and back to work in a lunch time, or drop off, pick up next day.

No one seems to do this sort of thing on a Saturday any more it seems... :(   (Or actually stock parts for that matter.)

Cheers etc.

D

You could try your local technical collage . the one here in Bangor loves doing little jobs , Helps teach the students real world jobs,, ;)

or most BT depots now have garages attached that do mot's and servicing . they have all the gear and not a lot to do in between servicing the vans...
so many hills , so little time ....
discovery TD5
work in progress...lol
