Someone make the goverment do something useful. PLEASE
« on: April 29, 2009, 21:12:24 »
Instead of working out how to get the country out of this fine mess they have got us into they now seem keen to destroy good shows that struggling broadcasters are actaully getting viewer ratings on.

Take a look at this link for example. Poor Top Gear and I totaly agree with the beebs comments.

For me, the link didn't work.

But I'll guess its suggesting Top Gear will be axed. Are you surprised? A programme that is amusing and entertaining, but also pokes fun at the current regime?

With the current plans for the Regime monitoring all emails etc etc, I'm considering getting rid of the mobile, the compoota and landline. Big Brother is here!

The link goes on about making the show "female friendly"....

Aah! So thats what its all about.

I'm sure in this day and age of equality, all the aspects have been considered. Its much the same with the Regime imposing recruitment figures for females/ under represented sections of society from joining the Police.
If they don't want to work in that organisation, you can't make them join!

lol bob.

But if the show is being sexist and not appealing to females then why is there always a female or 100 of them behind every shot of the presenters in the studio? I dont think they were paid to be there!

That's because it's a condition of entry that there's an equal number of ladies and gentlemen in your group.

Besides, I know plenty of ladies who are big Top Gear fans.

I'd be very surprised if they cancelled it without a very good reason because it's one of BBC Worldwide's best selling programmes.
Some say that this is just a random collection of letters, and that it can only be
understood by Top Gear's tame racing driver. All we know is, it's called The Sig.

It gets worse....

BBC now has to consider.

CBEEBIES has fallen foul of anti ageist legislation and is now "television for those of a younger mindset"
Womens Hour is now "Persons Hour"
Only Fools and Horses "Only those of a different mental attitude and Equines (as horse imples that equines under 14hands such as ponies are not eligible)"
The Antiques roadshow is now the "formerly owned items show" as they should not place age restrictions on items
Listen with Mother could now be re launched as "Listen (or mincom text) wiht you parent, guardian or legally assigned carer"

Also on Channel 4

Big Brother is now "Sibling of a higher Body mass index"

The "PC speak" phrase that is REALLY getting my goat at the moment is "looked after children" refering to kids in foster care. I find the inuendo that kids with their natural parents are not looked after really insulting

the thing with a nanny is eventually the children grow up and stop paying attention. so it is with governance of a populace, if a regime becomes too prescriptive and omnipotent it will by one means or another be removed from power. our history is littered with examples of just such events.

I find it extremly funny and weird how i am applying to join the forces and fight for a country which is slowly but surely losing the plot. I was accused of being a racist the other day cos i was walking down a high street with my 3 month old niece singing "bah bah black sheep".. We used to have to sing that at school and now i'm a racist for it. I mean [Edited] is happening to this country?

Next we will all have to learn polish and all study islamic so we do not offend anyone. **** that.

I saw the best on the news today, the MOD have released an action man figure to boost advertising and funding for publicity, the goonies have only been complaining the ethnic minorities and women action figures are not represented  so the MOD has to get some made up ASAP ................ I read about that - apparently they come with "authentic" equipment. So presumably some will come without body armour and stuff 'cos there isn't enough to go in all the boxes.  8-[

Bit like my friend who went to a pensions dinner thing a couple of months back - when the bill came there wasn't quite as much money in the kitty as they thought...  :^o
