hi there

planning to remove the seat belt mounting brackets from the rear tub in a 110 station wagon(for the now removed side wards facing seats) to get more room for loads of camping gear! just wondered if i would experience any lost of rigidity in the rear tub ie structural strength, wouldnt have thought so but  asking first any way

second question just noticed that the indicators dont flash once when disarming the alarm the interior light comes on and the indicators flash several times when arming should they flash or have i imagined it!

cheers kevin

and at this point I noticed the n/s air vent wasnt fully closed so lets not forget the mud stained interior and the water logged kenwood 6disc cd

Mine where retro fitted to customer spec by landrover special vechicles so I dunno if they are the same as normal. I removed mine with no issues other than dealing with the resultant holes. I think I recycled some of mount holes for transit van cargo lash point fittings. The seat belt tubular frames look like they might offer some sort of side impact protection but probably no value in that regard as all they are mounted to is the alloy panels of the wheel arch with large surface area plates under then wing rather then mount to a structural member. Without them they tub is just the same as a 110 would be that never had belts fitted.

I have also removed these seats to give me more load space and the fact that the seats are in my opinion not very safe. I removed the seat brackets and the seat belts but left the seat belt bars in. My view is that the bars are tucked in under the curve of the side so you don't actually gain much space by removing them compared with the gain you are getting by removing the seats. The bars have also come in useful for lashing down loads to and it saves me filling in 12 additional holes.
had a 90 hard top till it fell on it's head. Now have a 110 CSW

I've also removed the rear seats/belts, & for exactly the same reason you have. (camping, etc)
Also didn't fancy youngsters in the back.
So now I have a 5 seat/5 door hatchback with a large boot!
Notified the insurance of the change.
