« on: May 14, 2009, 18:03:38 »
Hi Guys, insurance is due on my 99 TD5, been happy with Adrian Flux but this year they came back with a silly price of 450, just wondering who others are using and what your paying?
Thanks

I'm with Lancaster - Land Rover specialists - 01480 484848.

Both my landies are insured with them, and even the renewals have been cheaper than everyone else.

'96 300 Tdi - £183 Fully comp - and that was with no no claims bonus and a claim less than a month ago!
'83 Series III 2.25 - £97 Fully comp.

Im with Flux at the moment, been a few years with them and up until this years renewal, was very happy. Acquired a 200tdi, called them and nearly died....DOUBLE what it cost to run my 4.0 petrol disco......not happy so said no thanks and phoned around. Got one quote around £40 lower than Flux and decided to phone them again and guess what? they beat it by £10....makes you wander what the score is here. Another website using same insurers quoted me nearly £300, yet Flux gave me same insurer quote of £180.....oh and a word of warning/advice/take it for what it is...........i tried comparethemeerkat, carsupermarket, confused and another online site....nearly identical quotes and the same bloke from 2 "different" insurance companies called me to "discuss" my policy renewal along with god knows how many other idiots wanting to give me a better quote and my mailbox has been filled with worthless trash from so many insurance companies since.....my phone is switched off at moment......

Thats true Scotsman, Flux did say they would beat any like for like quote until I told them how much I was quoted then they changed thier mind.  As for the compare sites tell me about it, no sooner had I done a search the phone never stopped ringing for with ins comps asking how the quote was, the AA was the worst after their online price was huge they then phoned me and put me through to loads of different companies who could not even quote me.  Anyway its all sorted now, looking forward to next year NOT.
