it's a p reg long wheelbase vitara
She was told by a friend of hers that a Peugeot 309 TDi would Fit straight in is this true?
if so will it fit straight on the suzi g/box?

or does anyone know which diesel would fit straight in without to much messing around?
thanks in advance Nev..

The big problem is finding a gearbox to convert the Pug diesel to Rear wheel drive
FSO pickups and possible certain LDV vans, but really you need to have a chat with some one who has done it.
The 1.9 TD engine is fantastic, just change the cam belt and oil and it should do 35-50 MPG and go forever
Remember it will come in handy even if you never use it

Read a post on difflock where a bloke  put in the citroen/pug 1.9tdi.  Had to change the bell housing for the one used by the diesel commercial Vit.  Bought one engine mounting and made the other.  Already had a body lift so fitting a rad wasn't too much of a problem.  Used the intercooler off a Jap pickup with a bonnet scoop, this intercooler has a fan fitted to it to pull air across it's surface to aid charge cooling.

Failing thatbuy a LWb diesel vit from a scrappy and transplant the necessary !!
