Just opened up the centre console switch block, where the window switched are, trying to source an independant live feed in there, loads of plugs and wires :o
its a j reg 200, I can see there is room for the more up market models, what would also be fitted on the console on the more luxurious models?
I'm presuming they would be controlled by redundant fuses which prob wont have any feeds out of the fuse box

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40

as mines a 3 door it does not have any elecky rear windows, the 5 door has which is controlled from the consol
to test, turn the ign. on and get a volt tester out, if the wires are live then it should show up if not then its redunant
seem to remember that the fuse box shows fuses for the windows left and right of the vehicle not for each window

yes forgot to mention mines a 3 dr too, it has the mirror control unit in the console too, just cant thing apart fron rear windows what they would be, they are mostly bullet connections but a couple are spade blocks probably the rear window units, no power to any contacts with or without ignition on or on secondary

That was my first thought, but looking at the connectors they are moe than likely original wiring
I think with what ed has and the other named 'accessories' on them, but there is a block of harness running aong the inside of n/s upper rail, nothing to do with the vehicle, some live a lot of which are very light load.
Its definately a magical mystery tour when playing with the wiring on mine
Under the bonnet is 2 fuse blocks, each with 4 fuses, out of the eight I have isolated 3 feeds in various parts of the body. Not found the rest yet, still have to disconnect the dim dip feed to the headlights too.

There's also wiring under there that would/could have gone to the panel under where the cubby box is. Cigarette lighter? Headphones? Dunno?
Mine has an open rectangular "gap" with no cover on it.
