No where on the LDNP as it's a no no and the Polis will stop you, outside the Park is dodgy too after the recent Appleby horse fair people are very against wild camping cos of the connection to all the Pikeys that appear during Appleby time.

if you cross over the border to scotland  then you can wild camp and it is not much further. just where the m6 turns in to the m74 ....turn off there and find a little lanesome where. if you go on cumbria county council row website there are one or two lanes just off there and you maybe able to find a quiet spot to camp. if your not disturbing animals and being quiet ....you should be ok....

So is it legal to wild camp in scotland?

yes ....you can wild camp in scotland....but use common sense. stay away from fields with farm animals in better in more remote area,s. there are one or two guide lines to follow but common sense covers most of them. it mainly concerns farmers and their animals and houses. best to camp in quieter area,s and away from grazing animals. there are sites about regarding it but i would have to find it again. got it some where....as long as you respect the land, land owners and animals and use your brain alittle your good to go.
most people find that near the hills are the best spots or remote beach area,s......plenty of them in scotland. will try and find the site with the official rulings regarding it and post it.

It's a shame that there aren't any green lanes though. Maybe a long weekend of poping backward and forwards over the border could be in order ;)
