Disco 1 arb quick disconects
« on: June 07, 2009, 18:21:30 »
Does anyone know of anyone that makes quick diconect for the disco 1 or has anybody made them? Can the disco 2 ones be altered? Looked online and asked a few companies in the USA but they only do them for disco 2's. Any help would be apreciated.
Thanks
Andy

I had a few ideas that i was messing with last year, but nothing came of it due to other priorities.  Should have made the most of the workshops I had access to when I did

Never mind.

I've seen some pretty shoddy home made stuff on RRC and Disco 1, shoddy and ameaturish.

Got any links to the DII stuff you mention?

Here's one - http://www.expeditionexchange.com/slickrockfab/  Looks like they could be adapted but can't aford them...lol not at the  moment anyway. Here's another company, just found them on a search and a guy in the states has adapted some off a Jeep http://store.jksmfg.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=QRDISC&Store_Code=JKS01&Category_Code=Swaybar_Disconnects

Hmmmmmmm :-k

Not sure how well they would work using a "click pin" to hold the split bush together on the ARB drop link, but they are far better than the TAT I've seen on RRC before now whereby the bolt was held into the ARB by the pin  and therefore left to rattle up and down in the hole of thr ARB, fretting the hole until it no longer fit.

I think, if you ground or turned the end off a ARB bolt and fitted a click pin allong with a sturdy washer that you would be almost there, provided you can articulate the drop link enough to get it all free.

If you do it, we want pictures
