Help - any ideas?

Over the weekend my transfer box lever (Disco II V8 Auto) poped out of Hi ratio 3 times whilst driving at *ahem* motorway speeds

More than disconcerting I have to say!  Since getting home I have cut a piece of wood to wedge it back in position  :? - but obviously not an 'ideal' solution! (unless the right solution is very expensive - then I might just paint the wood black to blend in a bit! LOL )

Cheers guys...
Mick

I think it might need adjusting or has something caughtin the mechanicsm that is preventing it going fully into "high".
