Defender 90 1985, Servo & Master cylinder.
« on: June 15, 2009, 17:41:00 »
Hi, I have had the problem of the brake pedal sinking to the floor while sitting at lights etc. I have got my hands on another servo and master cylinder but it doesn't look the same as mine. I think its for the later defender (view pic). Would i be able to fit the servo to mine somehow?

Regards.

 Hi mate your brakes are a safety critical point, not only for you but for everybody else.
So if its not the right part then don,t fit it =;

It may well fit the bulkhead but i,m pretty sure the brake pipe fittings are metric on the new type and imperial on the older ones,
also on most second hand servos ive seen there are hairline cracks visible in the pressing around where the master cylinder bolts to it.
Its true we can make just about anything fit any vehicle but.. Think Gresham

just my 2p

Gaz
so many repairs
 so little time

Cheers for your reply. I have worked it out now. I am going to put the servo in and make new brake lines to each calipers. The last thing i would want is to have brake failure.
